Sobia Kiran is a Ph.D. Humanities student at York University, Toronto, Canada. She is studying Pakistani science fiction comparing it with Western and Indian science fiction, especially, focusing on both the mimicry and hybridity of Pakistani sf genre and its engagement with glocal themes. She holds M.A. English degree from York University. Previously, she worked as an assistant professor of English in Lahore College for Women University, Lahore, Pakistan. She also writes poetry and stories. She gets them published in college magazines or presents in literary events. She has several scholarly publications to her credit.
